Convenient Plastic-based Diapers Or Eco Friendly Cloth Diapers? The Decision Is Yours To Make

Convenient Plastic-based Diapers Or Eco Friendly Cloth Diapers? The Decision Is Yours To Make

Oftentimes as soon as a notion or a product is reintroduced to the market, people forget the past and consider this concept or item as completely new. An outstanding example to this scenario is the renewed popularity of cloth diapers. We all are so used to see plastic, throw away diapers everywhere that we have overlooked the fact that cloth diapers were there long before their contemporary counterparts. Yes, cloth diapers have already been used for many years (if not centuries) before "modern" plastic diapers were ever manufactured.

And as is the case with virtually every technical advancement, moms and dads everywhere welcomed these new, disposable diapers with open arms. And why shouldn't they have? In the end, these new products did not need cleaning; rather then cleaning cloth diapers like they used to do for all those years, the only thing they had to do now was to use them once and then dispose of and use the next one. But if there can be one thing that life teaches us, it is that each and every good thing comes with some side effects. Soon after the disposable diapers started to be popular, people begun to notice the downsides of this new and exciting product.

Firstly, every household with a new child was shelling out lots of money to buy these new and convenient diapers. The expenditures were so big that the diaper market actually exploded in a couple months with this new and exceptional marketplace demand. But with the global economic crises and recessions, consumers begun to question the ways they were spending, and this was the initial step that paved the way for cloth diapers' return. After all, even if cloth diapers needed consumers to wash them after each use, they were a lot cheaper as they could be used again and again as long as they were completely cleaned.

But the money wasn't the sole thing that begun to tip the balance on cloth diapers' favor. Plastic diapers also created a substantial environmental trouble. Lots and lots of throw away diapers thrown to the environment every day soon became an actual problem on our environment. And environment sensitive parents have been the first to react and debate the logic of harming their children's environment with the diapers they were using for their own kids. It had been that argument that lead the way to the development and manufacturing of eco-friendly goods like bio-degradable diapers.

Today, there are three camps that support each one of these diaper types. People in favor of throw away diapers for the ease of use, those in support of biodegradable diapers since they pose a considerably smaller risk to the environment, and those that buy and use only cloth diapers. Ultimately, the final decision is always up to us as parents and consumers. We can prefer ease of use, or we can think about our future.
