Construction Outsourcing And Modular Home Builders

By:

With modern technology, work collaboration over any given distance has exploded. Think about it. In previous decades, jobs required everything to be done in that location. Communication was not advanced enough or reliable enough to coordinate tasks in different locations. For example, if you needed your taxes done you would go to a local accountant who would work with you directly. Today, Indians are doing the taxes of thousands of Americans. Another great example is printing. It used to be critical to own your own printer, so that you could print your own documents. Today, many universities and companies have printers all around that you can print to from anywhere via the Internet. Then, when you happen to walk by a printer location you simply pick it up. Tasks are being simplified and it is now possible to outsource many tasks. Outsourcing is when a task or job can be sent out for someone else to do it cheaper than you could. A clothing designer could have a factory in China produce their product line, instead of having to build a factory themselves and produce their own goods. This saves money, creates efficiency. One of my favorite cases of outsourcing is construction. Consider modular home builders. Ever heard of them?

Most commonly in order to build a home, you have to have a construction crew on your property hammering nails and laying cement. In other words, construction is done on-site. This requires a lot of money. Employees have to be paid to come out to the property to work everyday. Machines and materials need to be hauled to the site. A the construction zone needs to be set-up and torn down. These are only a few aspects of the enormous costs that can go into building a house. Modular home builders escape this cost by getting construction jobs outsourced. They build preplanned modular home floor plans in a centralized location and then ship these homes in sections to the property of the homeowner. It is essentially ordering your house and having it shipped to you. It cuts costs way down. Modular home builders construct thousands of homes in the same location, eliminating a lot of overhead costs. People have felt restricted by modular homes, but builders are now offering custom floor plans as well. The quality is even arguably better with modular units. The future is costs savings, efficiency and outsourcing.
