One of the most coveted jobs in construction is that of a construction manager. This is one of the most respectable and well-paid jobs in construction that puts you in a position of authority.

The role of the construction manager is a complicated one. He is responsible for the supervision of the entire construction project ranging from the planning of the project to seeing it through to its completion. The entire project is dependent on the construction managers abilities since he is the person who acts as the team leader, takes full responsibility for the success of the project, solve any problem that might occur after the commencement of the project and make sure that the project is completed within the pre-decided amount of time.

To be a construction manager it is imperative that you have knowledge about the basics of the job. This means that you need proper educational qualifications which give you a thorough idea about what you are doing. Usually construction managers are required to have a masters degree if not an MBA.

The manager is in charge of the entire process. This includes responsibilities like planning, implementation, overseeing, directing as well as handling the budget for the entire project.

If you want to be a successful construction manager, there are some other skills that you must have. Leadership qualities and good communication skills are very important. There will be many employees under you who need to follow your instructions. Thus it is important that you have the proper authority and the ability to make yourself heard, liked and respected. You will be working on site, hence it is important that you are able to solve and disputes or troubles that may occur.
