The results of a survey of 400 small and medium-sized construction companies conducted for the purposes of PMRs report entitled Construction chemicals market in Poland 2012 Development forecasts for 2012-2014 indicate a fairly strong mood prevailing in the construction chemicals market in Poland.
The survey covered companies specialising in five major types of work where construction chemicals are used: masonry work, tiling, screeding, thick-layer plastering and installation of thermal insulation.
The results of the survey show that renovation of the existing buildings represents more than half of the market for tiling adhesives and thermal insulation products, while in the remaining product categories, it is the new buildings which are the largest recipients of materials more than three-quarters of masonry mortar consumption is represented by new buildings.
Urban areas account for as much as three-quarters of construction chemicals consumption. As far as thermal insulation systems are concerned, urban regions contribute a slightly smaller share as they account for around two-thirds of the market.

Single-family construction is the leading segment in all the branches of construction chemicals. Other major sectors in terms of consumption of construction chemicals are multi-family buildings and public buildings. Combined, the three main categories of buildings generate in excess of 80% of demand for construction chemicals.
Regardless of the type of work they perform, the surveyed companies usually buy chemicals from building wholesalers. Other channels, such as building supermarkets, factory outlets and purchases direct from manufacturers, are significantly less popular. The findings of the survey also suggest that online stores are a completely neglected channel in Poland.
As far as novel products and, in general, innovative solutions are concerned, the results reveal that contractors are highly unwilling to adopt state-of-the-art products only one-quarter of them test new products out of their own accord.

This press release is based on information contained in the latest PMR report entitled Construction chemicals market in Poland 2012 Development forecasts for 2012-2014.
