Constant Awareness For Street Reality Based Self Defense Training!

By:

In the following article I'm going to teach you a lesson about awareness. I learned alot of the following tactics from doing 8 months in jail. Prison is an extremely dangerous place and not paying attention to your surroundings, your environment, and the people around you can get you killed. The same applies to the streets, walking trails, low traffic areas, back alleys, nightclubs, or even at home and in your day to day life. I have seen four people get stabbed unexpectedly in my life time, so take the following street reality based self defense tips to heart. This stuff could save your life.

Street reality based self defense tips #1 - Maintain constant awareness around you. I remember when I lived in a big city, there had been six attacks on older middle aged women by a man with a lead pipe. He bashed their heads in, and then stole their purses and valuables in plain sight of other people on the subway system. He got caught within two days and luckily the women survived, but most of them will have injuries for the rest of their lives. What is my lesson here you ask? Don't assume you won't be targetted for violence in public places. Secondly, don't expect to rush to your aid or help you during an attack. Your personal safety is up to you.

Street reality based self defense tips #2 - When you are being encountered by a hostile opponent that might be trying to scare you, intimidate you, rob you, whatever, pay attention to his hands. Like I said in the opening paragraph of this article, I have seen four people get stabbed. All four victims never expected a knife to come into play in the fights they were in. It just happened. If you notice a blade being held by your attacker, by all means, get the hell out of there and run. There is no 100% accurate way to defend or disarm a knife. Sorry, but it doesn't work. I've seen people bleed out. If you see a knife, run.

Street reality based self defense tips #3 - The third approach you can take torwards your personal safety is to enroll in any kind of martial arts training that you can. This includes purchasing books or DVDs. Absorb as much information as you can on reality based street self defense and by all means practice and practice often. Being physically prepared to handle violence from training and practice is alot more usefull then just reading articles. So get out there and train.

The following methods of street self defense are just a handful I have learned from my life and I hope these will keep you safe in your daily life.
