Consider Wedding Day Weather

By:

While you are wishing for a traditional wedding in town or an outdoor, country wedding in the English or Scottish countryside, you need to consider one unpredictable factor that can make a huge difference in your wedding plans - the weather. And you never quite know how the weather is going to cooperate, especially if you plan an outdoor wedding.

Most weddings are planned at least a year in advance. This makes it impossible to predict what the weather will be like. Whilst you may know that the weather at a certain time of the year is lovely and dreadful during other times of the year, you cannot say for certain whether or not it will rain on your big day.

So what is a bride to do? Here are some tips on how to keep the weather from ruining your big day, even if it does rain:

1. Have an enclosed venue - just in case. Even if you have your heart set on getting married in the outdoors, you need to prepare for inclement weather. Insist that the wedding venue have an enclosure in case of rain. The day may be perfect and the weather divine, but you need to have a Plan B just in case the weather is uncooperative.

2. Consider a country manor wedding. There are various stately homes across the English and Scottish countryside that you can choose for your wedding venue. You do not have to worry about rain at all as they are completely enclosed and can hold hundreds of guests. These country manors have everything that you need to make your wedding filled with country charm, and you do not have to concern yourself with the weather.

3. Look at the outdoors as an option, not a necessity. Plan for an indoor wedding and look at options that you can use at the last minute if the weather is fine. Many wedding venues have both indoor and outdoor facilities for your country wedding. By choosing one of these places to hold your country wedding, you can be assured that you will not be disturbed by the weather.

4. Have a backup plan when it comes to transportation. If you want the horse and carriage, you need to have a car ready in case of rain on your big day. You do not want to arrive for the ceremony in a carriage covered with muddy wheels. Make sure the transportation vendor has a backup plan.

5. Have photography options. You may envision taking wedding photographs in the nearby garden, but this will be to no avail if it rains that day. Have a backup plan when it comes to your photography options as well and choose a photographer that has enough imagination to create splendid indoor photo sessions.

By choosing the right vendors who are prepared for such calamities as a rain storm on the day of your wedding, you can plan your country wedding without having to worry about the weather.
