Confidentiality Agreements With Shredding Companies

By:

As businesses get larger and larger, the amount of paper that passes through the desks of some large companies is truly astronomical. For these companies, the responsibility of shredding all documents which require it can be far too time consuming for their employees who are realistically being paid to complete other tasks rather than simply shredding paper. For these companies, the most expedient way to ensure that all required documents are destroyed is to hire a third party company that offers shredding service. The only concern in such a situation is security. Since document shredding is designed to protect private information, the worry is that when hiring a company to destroy documents there must be some kind of protective measure in order to ensure that all proper confidentiality and security is maintained.

When you're deciding which shredding company to do business with, you shouldn't even consider those that don't guarantee your total confidentiality. There are a lot of great companies out there that have the experience and the equipment to get all of your documents shredded in a fast and affordable manner that will be perfectly happy to sign any kind of NDA that you require of them. The best of these companies have their own terms of confidentiality bound into the terms of service that you agree to when you hire them on, usually outlining their total commitment to protecting your information at all costs, and assuring you that nothing will ever be compromised. These are the companies that you want to do business with.

These built in confidentiality agreements in the contracts that you sign with a company that specializes in document destruction should be more than enough to legally protect you from the leak of any information. However, if you or your companies legal department does require some extra insurance, the best companies are happy to sign anything else that you require of them in order to ensure that your legally binding agreements are totally leak proof. These companies exist to help protect confidentiality and privacy, which is why document shredding became common practice in the first place. If you try and deal with a company that balks at signing anything in this realm, they are really not a company that is as dedicated to the protection of information as you would ideally like to have, so you might do well to search out another company that can be more accommodating in this regard.
