Concierge, A Luxury Or Necessity

Concierge has been derived from a French word Comte Des Cierges, meaning The Keeper of the Candle. In 19th century, the word Concierge represented a person who look after the apartment building and were generally given a room on the ground floor to perform his duty.

Generally when we think of concierge, it remind us the Concierge Desk at the Hotel which helps the guest to do their work. Today concierge is found everywhere in Business, Hospital and other places.

In Business, concierge are divided into 3 portions, that is Personal Concierge, Office Concierge and Corporate concierge. Personal Concierge looks after the personal needs like manage laundry, book cinema tickets, etc. In Office concierge they helps in to shop for office stationeries, maintain office building and help in other office work. Finally Corporate Concierge, who manages events, protocols and other important services.

Lets discuss about how we are been concierge unknowingly. For example in Concierge Branch of the bank we get one to one services by a dedicated representative who is dedicated to our needs and the officer also visits at the office to provide services at the doorsteps. Another example is of cell phone. With ATT concierge you can book a restaurant then ATT will return a confirmation call, thats really make the life easy.

Concierge is changing the way we live our life perhaps, think of that pleasure time when drive down to the laundry to do our laundry at the laundry shop, or hunt from restaurant to restaurant to find a good place. As the Mark Twain said No time to stand and stare

Summarizing, ever new concept brings pros and cons and it is important to spend time with friends and family and care for those who need our care.

Concierge services are the upcoming business and service for the modern times, with a vision of buying Worries and selling Time. People joining the concierge club contribute towards the pool and accordingly can have a share of such personalized services. Such pooling, club or membership system proves to be highly cost-effective and customizable.
