Concession Stands Are A Staple In All Walks Of Life

By:

There are a wide variety of cultures around the globe, all with very diverse customs. But one common bond the world population shares is a love for snacking. To that end, food and drink play a part in just about every event or gathering imaginable.

Whether it's a busy city street, concert hall or sporting event, any space considerably occupied with people is reason enough for vendors to have drinks and concession food available. The desire to have access to snack food is reflexive among people in most societies, and concessionaires are only too happy to provide it.

The concession trailer business continues to flourish. Especially during the summertime, as carnivals, festivals, fairs and other outdoor events will have at least several concession trailers available to snack seekers. In addition to larger trailers, smaller carts and stands can usually be found throughout event areas.

Whats the Occasion?

As for the concessions themselves, it all depends on the occasion.

In the United States and countries with similar cultural customs, hot dog machines and popcorn makers are standard for most concession stands. At a youth baseball game or local festival, it's quite possible we might also find a nacho machine or hamburgers cooking on the grill. And it's more than likely that bagged snacks, candy bars and canned soft drinks will be available to supplement the hot items.

The snacks offered by a concession stand are frequently connected with a specific theme. For instance:

Oktoberfest celebrations typically feature bratwurst, sausage, potato pancakes and beer. Other types of meats may be available as well, along with a variety of kabobs. Belgian waffles are also very popular at these events.

During fall or wintertime celebrations, warm drinks such as hot chocolate should be available; in addition to items such as caramel corn and bags of warm nuts.

County fair concessions are known to offer cotton candy, grilled corn, giant pretzels and items especially popular on hot days like sno cones and ice cream.

Whatever the occasion, there will always be hungry, thirsty people who will demand concessions.
