Operating systems like Mac, Windows and Linux include a bootable DVD or CD with which you can boot your CD or DVD in case of operating system failure. But the newer versions of laptops and notebooks do not include the optical drives that are needed to use these bootable discs. In case your computer does not have the optical driver in it, you can still boot your computer with these bootable discs using a USB flash drive. With some
computer support from experts you will need to use a computer with optical drive so that you can set up the USDB drive.
If you are using Windows as your operating system, you will need to insert the CD into the computers optical drive. Computer support experts suggest you to insert the flash drive into the USB port of the computer. Now you will need to go to the start menu and open the accessories. On accessories you will need to launch the command prompt.
On the command box you will need to type diskpart and need to hit enter. Now you need to type list disk and then again press enter. Look for the number that appears on the list just next to the flash drive. If you dont have any idea which entry represents the flash drive you can have a look on the capacity part of the disk to get a hint on it.
Computer support experts suggest you to type select disk 1. Now you will need too type the commands. First you will type clean. Then you will need to press enter. Then you will need to type create partition primary and then again press enter. Now, type select partition 1 and press enter. Then type active and press enter. Now type formatfs=fat32 and again press enter. Now type assign , pres enter and lastly type exit and press enter.
You will have to carry the process on by typing xcopy d:*.* /s/e/f g:. It will be a bit modified. Yoy will need to type your drive letter in the place ofd and you will have to place the flash drive letter in the place of g. When the files will be copied, the flash drive will be bootable.
If you are using Macintosh as operating system, computer support experts want you to put the MAC operating system CD to the disk and insert the flash drive into the USB port. On the menu bar you will need to click on the option utility and from there you will need to click on disk utility.
Now you will need to click on the flash drive icon. You will need to click on the option partition and then to 1 partition. You will need to click on options. If it is Intel processor you need to select GUID Partition Table. Now click ok. On the main screen of disk utility you will need to click on erase. From the volume format you need to choose the right option. Now you need to click on erase to complete the flash drive formatting. You will now need to click on restore. Now you will need to drag the flash drives icon to the area destination and Mac OS disc icon to the area source.
