However, you need to remember that the presence of those viruses or spyware can revert back again causing the same problem. So you need to clean those spyware and viruses first. But once you have cleaned these up you can go on setting the home page again. For this again you will need to go to IE page and follow the steps Tools>Internet Options>Setting Dialog>General. Under the home page option you need to set the IE homepage and click on ok to save the settings.

Sometimes you like to delete the URL from the history. But they come up again and again. You can delete them by following some computer help tips. For deleting history or for deleting any specific URL you will need to open the regedit and go to:

HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Microsoft\Internet Explorer\TypedURLs
Now you can see all the URLs. Now you need to delete the URL that you want to make it disappear from the history.

If you want to enable the registry editor that is already disabled by some malware, you can follow some computer help tips to enable it. First you need to go to start and type gpedit.msc. Then you will need to go to user configuration and then to system templates. Now you need to go to system and click on the option prevent access to registry editing tools. Now click on disable and click on ok to save it. Restart your computer to save the setting.
