Composite Door Side Panels

Composite Door Side Panels

Composite doors are the latest in front door design. Smart, long-lasting, secure and affordable, these new doors are set to take the market by storm.
If you're looking for a new door, composite doors are definitely worth considering.
As well as considering the actual door, you should consider side panels. Side panels are the windows next to, above or all around your door. When buying a composite door, you can also order the side panels of your choice at the same time.
First, consider the style of your side panel. If you have a tall hall way with high ceilings, you may wish to choose a top light. A top light would allow extra light into the room and would be especially suited to those who choose solid doors, where no light is being let in by the door. A high window would allow light to pass whilst protecting privacy and preventing prying eyes from seeing inside.
If you have a wide hall way that is already light and airy, a flag window would add style and character to your entrance way. These small windows can be placed on the left or right of your door, or on both sides. For darker hall ways, you can choose a side light. Similar to the flag windows in the fact that they can be placed on either side of the door or both sides, side lights span the entire length of the door. This allows a much greater level of light into the room. Both flag windows and side lights come with the option of dividing the window in half with a mid-rail.
If you choose a combination of side panels, you have the option of smaller additional top lights to have in the corners between the main top light and the side light or flag window.
In total, there are 18 different side panel combinations, including the singular top light/flag window/side light options. For combinations involving side lights or flag windows, you may be concerned about the privacy of your home. If you do not wish to have curtains to obscure the view, a clear window would allow anyone to see inside your home, including potential attackers. Protect your home and privacy by using obscure glass in your side panels. There is a choice of 18 different obscure glass patterns for use in side panels - ranging from stylish to private. These glasses are given a rating between 1 and 5 for the level of privacy offered. One is for the lowest obscuration and the least privacy, five is for the highest obscuration and the most privacy. There is a range of obscure glass patterns, with simple speckles and bubbles, more intricate curves and swirls and stylish flowers and leaves. All composite door and side panel obscure glass comes toughened as standard, but also has the additional option of being laminated for extra safety and security. Not only used for privacy, obscure glass is sometimes used purely as a style statement.
