Complete Faith Needs Purposeful Action

By:

A close friend recently explained to me that he had just started a new venture and could do with some suggestions. He is on a limited fixed salary and has used up his credit cards for his business start-up, but currently he has no buyers.

He is stating positive affirmations that he is already successful and is free from debt. He asks whether he should pay his bills when they arrive, even though the money isn't in his account yet. He reasons that these firm steps would reveal his faith.

My Answer: Faith is amazing - and is very critical. There are, on the other hand, times when faith on it's own just isn't quite enough.

I explained to him that he needs to pay more attention to the actual realities instead of faith alone and focus on discovering how to provide a service that is considered essential by other people. (Note the emphasis is on what "they" need.) He must remember that although faith is a really important constituent to manifesting, the other component is calculated actions.

Paying for expenses with rubber checks is not acting out of faith. It's called imprudence. When you're anxious about how you're going to cover the debts - or what you're going to eat - or how to maintain a roof over your head, your frame of mind is not favorable to creating anything good, let alone bring you a very successful business.

We all have to take into account that all faith needs something more. If you're in an jet plane and it's spinning nose down, you'll first slip on your parachute - THEN you can say some prayers.

There's a phrase in the bible "Faith without works is dead", It means just that. Faith needs to be inherently joined with action. Steadfast action. If it's not, then it's not genuine faith, it's only an effort to fool yourself.

Way too many people think that they can pray with only faith, and this will keep them from having to make choices or take some action. NO! That's not the way it works. Actions and faith must be merged together as a synergistic whole and work together. Neither one works productively without the other.

Accordingly, while Positivity is fantastic and absolutely critical, powerful positive action is the other complementary ingredient. Put very simply, you'll never pray yourself up a hill without a bit of action.

When you're definitely set to take action, with no holds barred, then the universe moves too. You'll start to observe the happy coincidences, and the surprise meetings with just the right person to help you move forward. Things will start taking place with remarkable regularity. But it first took the action on your side to set all that potentiality into motion. ACTION. Otherwise it's all just wishful thinking.

Some people might call that activity by a different name. In some instances it might be called enthusiasm, In other instances it might just be hard, hard work. It's all motivation to do what it takes.. But it sure keeps the pot boiling.

In some cases the only way to move ahead is to take a roundabout on the way to your targets. It's not a "wrong turn." It's just another way of getting where you're preparing to go - evidently a necessary one. Whatever it takes.

Just don't say good bye to your dreams whenever life disappoints you. The important thing is your desired objective - not the path you take to get you there.

Don't let impatience put you off track on the road to your goal. Impatience has killed off so many dreams because you believe it has to transpire NOW. It may be just around the next turn in the road. All you could very well have to do is only take a few additional steps - or be patient for a few more days ...

It could possibly help to think of your vision of the future as a mountain peak. If we could make a straight line to the top, that would be fantastic. What generally happens however, is that we end up going on offshoots with lots of twists and turns along the way up the mountain. As long as we are turned towards the mountain peak however, we will continue to climb - up -up and in due course we WILL reach our goal.

This may appear a bit trivial, but it's real, all the same. I'm living proof as I traveled through life. I've had many awesome "faith" encounters over the years and yes, every now and then I even thought that faith alone just MIGHT work, but by and large, my most triumphant experiences with faith have been shared with hard work.

The truth is, it's all part of the mysterious experience called FAITH.
