Comparing Your Choices For Fake Snow

By:

All of us have seen large window and outdoor displays using cotton or Styrofoam snow to get that Winter Wonderland look, and in all these situations, the only thing that looks "fake" is the artificial snow. But for the last 10 years, savvy decorators, event planners, professional photographers and film makers have learned that by using instant snow powder that erupts into perfect looking snow in just a few seconds with the addition of water, the snow becomes the most exciting and realistic item they are working with.

Originally developed in Japan for huge indoor snowboard parks, since 2001 this amazing snow has been making its way through the US and worldwide. Easy to use, easy to set up and work with and a snap to clean up (it is environmentally friendly and biodegradable), this is a way any professional can make their work stand out and their clients delighted.

Magazine covers and catalog shoots, small films, theatrical productions of all sizes and types, grand openings, weddings and banquets of all types, designers, florists and others can let their imaginations run wild with this amazing snow. Business owners love it when word is tweeted around town that their store, nightclub or restaurant has a large batch of snow on display and people start wondering where it came from.

One business owner constantly had people asking if he had just driven up to the mountains nearby and brought the snow back. Hotels use the snow to decorate lobbies and entrances and then sell colorful retail packages of instant snow in their lobby stores, or leave a small packet as a welcoming gift in each room. Restaurants and bars fill buckets with fake snow and put in bottles of soda or beer, or sometimes put food platters over "snow" to give the appearance of an iced food tray.

A large international zoo themed the entrance to a polar bear exhibit with a huge mound of instant snow. A major Las Vegas resort used tons of instant snow to theme a large covered atrium for the 5 weeks between Thanksgiving and New Years. A large Olympic banquet featured mounds of snow on every table in the hall, and strewn over large floral centerpieces so it looked like it had snowed on the flowers overnight. Major films with winter or snow themes put large mounds of instant snow at the theater entrance for well publicized openings.

So turn on your creative juices and think of how your next business event can turn into a instant snow party that everyone will remember!
