Window stickers have become very common these days. The omnipresent stickers have taken the avatar of window signs or more commonly known as window signage, window decal; name it and they are there! They are called window stickers but you can see them on posters, public notices, billboards, wall, sports cars, autos, etc. You find all kinds of messages on them, funny, entertaining, informative, advertising, and the list goes on. All these benefits at a very cheap price! No wonder window stickers are gaining popularity all around the world!
Many business firms prefer to use stickers instead of flyers. This is because stickers have a lot of advantages over flyers and handouts. First of all, unlike flyers, stickers are not just for one person. Stickers can be stuck on a place where potential customers can view it. And, one sticker gives out message to all the people who view it. On the other hand a flyer gives out message to just one person who takes it. Sometimes the flyers are handed over to the people who do not wish to read it and they throw it away without even reading it. So now if you calculate the proportion, on an average, a flyer is read less than one person, whereas a sticker is read by more than one person. Obviously, it has won the hearts of marketers.
The other reason why marketers prefer stickers over other printed form of advertising and promotion is that stickers are waterproof. This quality of stickers makes its life longer than handouts, leaflets, etc. So now, with the increased life span of stickers, the proportion of people reading a sticker goes even higher. And talking about rainproof property, the flyers obviously score less on the proportion of people reading them. This is mainly because you will hardly find a flyer that is water proof.

Moreover, making a flyer waterproof, increases the cost of the flyer.
The stickers attract a larger audience. For example you find a lot of stickers on race cars. The stickers not only get the attention of people going to watch the race, but also get attention from people watching the race at home on their television sets. This shows that a single sticker can be used to gain international attention. However, this is not the case with other printed forms of promotion. They are only meant for a single person to read and get information. Or sometimes it just states where the reader can get information from.
Now you would argue about the information on the sticker and the flyer. You are correct; the information on the sticker is quite limited compared to a brochure, flyer or a leaflet. But the stickers are not meant to give out information. They are to promote, advertise and market the business. The stickers of course have contact details like phone numbers, addresses and websites. The reader can collect information from there. In case there is no contact information, the name of the business or the product will be mentioned on the sticker. The reader can easily google it out.
