Commonly Known Techniques Of Liposuction

By:

Liposuction is a medical procedure that is used to remove excess fats from the various body parts. With the technological advances made in the field of medicine, the technique has also evolved from the traditional method. In the traditional method of this surgery, a thin tube is inserted through incisions in the body parts from which fats have to be removed. The fats are then suctioned out. This traditional method of the surgery is done under a general anesthesia and can be risky. It often leads to swelling, bruising and bleeding.

Tumescent liposuction is a technique that uses a special diluted local anesthesia that is injected into the patient's body areas from which fats have to be removed. When this fluid enters the body area, the area swells and the surgeon can then easily access and remove the fats. This technique is regarded as the safest method of surgery and causes less bleeding.

The super wet technique of liposuction is similar to the tumescent technique i.e. it also works when a fluid is injected into the patient's body. However, in this method the amount of fluid injected is equal to the amount of fat that has to be removed from the body. This surgery is done under a general anesthesia.

Device assisted liposuction is carried out with the help of various devices. The devices most commonly used for liposuction are suction pump and ultrasound. Suction assisted liposuction is very common. In fact all surgeries make use of the suction pump. In most cases an instrument called cannula is attached to a suction pump. This instrument is inserted into the patient's body through incisions and the fats are removed through a suction pump. Ultrasound assisted liposuction is a technique in which high energy from ultrasound is used in addition to the suction pump. The waves from the ultrasound help in the removal of the fats. The tip of the cannula is attached to an ultrasound device. In this technique the high frequency energy from the ultrasound device is used to alter the fats and the suction pump then removes the fats from the body.

Laser lipo is a technique that makes use of a laser to remove fats from the body. The laser helps to locate the area from where fats have to be removed. Once found, the fat cells are targeted using a laser beam and are then melted down. These are then removed from the body in the form of wastes or through a suction pump. This technique is a fairly new technique and has gained popularity because it causes no pain and no bleeding. Also it does not cause any bruising or swelling like the traditional surgery method.

Each technique of this process took different time and costs of each of the techniques vary. Also each technique must be performed by an experienced and expert surgeon who can assure of safety and success of the surgery. Almost all the procedures are used across the world for the removal of excess fats from the body.
