The benefits of this type procedure are simply that the already small incisions are even smaller and lesser in number.

Im not afraid of the procedure because I know its really very minor surgery, its the pain I dread while recovering. What should I expect during the recovery period?

I dont blame you for being apprehensive. I cant say that I enjoy any surgical procedure either; its the after-effects that I enjoy. As with any surgical procedure, there will be a minimal amount of discomfort following a brow lift / forehead lift. You can expect minor swelling and bruising lasting from seven to ten days. You will be given prescription pain killers by your physician after the surgery, so if you do experience discomfort you can keep it in check. Keep your head elevated and use cold compresses to help to reduce the swelling. You will be given antibiotics to take as well. Your stitches should be removed in 10 days or less.

Who is a good candidate for a forehead lift?

You are! Well, lets qualify that by adding that you should have no major untreated medical problems and are otherwise in decent health. Those of us with forehead wrinkles and falling eyebrows which cause a tired, unhappy appearance are excellent candidates for this procedure as well.

How is a brow lift / forehead lift different from eyelid surgery?

There is a big difference between the two surgeries. Eyelid surgery or a blepharoplasty, will remove excess skin and most of the fat from the eyelids, while a brow lift will correct what is known as hooding of the sideways brow and sagging of the eyebrow as a whole.
