Comfortable Leather Dress Shoes For Men

By:

Your feet take a brutal pounding every day if you do a lot of walking around, so you need to know how to select a pair of comfortable shoes. You don't have to sacrifice style for comfort, because you can find comfortable shoes in almost any style. The obvious comfortable shoes are the casual shoes like loafers, athletic shoes, and sneakers. But even those types of shoes can be uncomfortable if you get the wrong size or if the shoes are not made properly in such a way as to be good for your feet.

When it comes to dress shoes, if they are made well they can be just as comfortable as casual shoes. One of the things that can be a problem is the lack of good arch support. Unless you are completely flat-footed, most guys need strong support for the arch of the foot. Without a shoe built to give arch support, you will quickly develop sore feet if you do any kind of serious walking.

Sandals can be quite comfortable because they give your feet a lot of freedom, but they often lack arch support so they are not recommended for long walks except at the beach where the sand provides a good surface for walking in sandals.

The other thing to notice when you try on a new pair of shoes is if there is cushion in your step or if you feel like you are banging your feet directly on concrete. Cheaper shoes are made to look like the more expensive ones on the outside, but they have less attention paid to how they are constructed on the inside. Also do not assume that the new shoes will fit just because they are marked in your size.

While the size length is standard and if you are not still growing your shoe length size will remain stable for most of your life until you get older (when it is common for feet to get bigger, mostly due to fallen arches), but there is also great variation in the width size. Most stores offer shoes with an average width size, but usually also carry shoes with wider or narrower widths. Definitely try on any new shoes in the store before you buy them.

If one foot is slightly larger than the other (which is very common) make sure the shoes fit the larger foot. Make sure there is room for your toes to spread a bit. Try spreading your toes with the shoes on. They should not feel cramped and they should not touch the front inside of the shoe.

There should always be a little extra room between the toes and the front of the shoe. Pay careful attention to how the shoe moves on your heel when you walk. If it rides up and down on your heel with each step that is the perfect way to get a blister. Also make sure you get shoes that have a non-slip sole because you don't want to have an accident and fall down. Once you have found the perfect pair of comfortable shoes, it is time to go for a walk.
