The body reacts to gluten that leads to sensitivity reactions to the intestines of the affected individual. This reaction will destroy the functions of the intestine and impairs the absorption of nutrients from foods and can only be avoided if the person eliminates foods which contain gluten.

Coeliac disease has symptoms that may vary depending on age but with similarities as the symptoms usually occurs on the digestive tract. For infants and growing children, symptoms may present as having diarrhea or constipation (especially after intake of gluten based foods), loss of appetite, anemia, and malnutrition. The deficiency of essential vitamins is also present which may lead to slow growth and poor memory.

Eliminate Gluten in the Diet

The only thing that can help in avoiding gluten sensitivity reaction is to eliminate the foods containing this substance. Gluten has a component which is known as the "gliadin" that causes the reactions in the intestines. The elimination of gluten is not temporary—it should be for a lifetime. The main reason is that body is continually sensitive to this substance just like an allergy.
