Cocktails And International Flavors At Red Box Cafe | Mumbai

What you see - Red dominates the fun and interesting dcor at the family restobar Red Box at Mumbai. Smart use of white boxes, mirrors and glass elements add character. As soon as you handover your car to the valet and enter Red Box Cafe, you see an assortment of desserts and cakes on display. The outdoor dining area is huge and has chic spiral lights hanging overhead. The indoor area has LCD screens, smart red seating and an open DJ console. Popular, hip hop and dance music is mostly played, but be ready to listen to Bollywood tracks as the night goes on.

What you get - Red Box Cafe serves Continental, Indian, Mexican and limited French cuisine along with an interesting assortment of domestic and international spirits. A red menu displays a good range of beers (Kingfisher, Corona, Heineken and more), cocktails, smoothies, liquors and mocktails. In food, a good variety of starters, salads, main course, pastas, pizzas and sizzlers are on offer.

We started with Caipriojka, a refreshing cocktail made with vodka, lime, mint leaves and sugar, and found it breezy. For starters we had, Harisha marinated fish and found it succulent, flavorsome and well done. It was served with coleslaw. Butter garlic prawns, our next starter seemed to have an overdose of garlic though. We also had Nachos with cheese but found it a little disappointing as the melted cheese was served cold.

As the night wore on, the music became louder and we became more experimental with the menu. We ordered B 52, a layered cocktail shooter and Chicken pizza for the main course. The pizza with fresh chicken pieces, olives and cheese was average but the shooters were really good.

Our verdict - Housed at Andheri and Bandra in Mumbai, Red Box is a very popular hangout. Celebrate birthdays here as the selection of cakes and other desserts is good or guzzle beer with office buddies. Alternatively, ladies who lunch can enjoy a quiet afternoon outdoors with prior reservations. The restobar has a good seating capacity and provides takeaway and valet parking services. Happy Hours are available Monday to Thursday from 4 PM to 7 PM.
