Coal Carbonization And Waste Heat Recovery-two Vital Process

By:

The process of Coal Carbonization mainly comes into use for converting an organic or natural substance into carbon or carbon residue through the process of pyrolysis and destructive distillation. This term is often used in organic chemistry in regard to the generation of coal gas or coal tar which is the raw form of coal. Fossil fuels are the bi-products derived through the process of Coal Carbonization of vegetables. Coal Carbonization is basically an exothermic process.

Coal Carbonization is used to derive a source of energy which does not emit carbon dioxide. In the case of glucose, the whole carbonization process releases about 237 per gram. Incase of a biomaterial being exposed to immense heat (for instance: that of an atomic bomb which occurs very quickly getting converted into solid form of carbon. The carbonization process is also used to generate bio-diesel from ethanol and fatty acids.

Coal Carbonization is not just about destructive distillation of organic substances in the absence of air alongside the production of carbon and other gas or liquid products. The coke which is produced through this process is actually a domestic smokeless fuel which is efficiently used in the iron and steel industry. Metallurgical coke can be derived from a very few range of coal. These coals mostly fall under the bituminous bracket and not all bituminous coal can be referred to as caking coal.

Waste Heat Recovery is a process through which fuel combustion or chemical reaction is recycled for deriving useful benefit and other purpose. The heat is not measured in terms of amount but rather on its value. This process is used to recover the heat depending on the amount generated by the waste heat gases and according to economics. Waste Heat Recovery process can help in saving a considerable amount of fuel. Most of the energy in these gases is lost in the process and cannot be recovered fully. Waste heat can be emitted from any temperature from that of cooling chilled water to the ones which is emitted from those waste gases of high temperature from industrial furnace, kiln or in any other form.

With the help of Waste Heat Recovery such waste gases coming out can be recycled and utilized in a beneficial way. Pre-heating combustion air, space heating, pre-heated boiler freed water or process water is some of the instances of Waste Heat Recovery. Waste Heat Recovery is mainly used to recover the maximum amount of heat using the highest potential. The process of Waste Heat Recovery can be used where the temperature is high and can used for pre-heating air and a stage that uses low temperature can be used in the case or process of heating feed water or raising steam.
