Coaching Tools: Save Money And Hassle Dealing With Web Designers With Your Own Blog

By:

Do you know the difference between a blog and a website? Most people don't because the line has become very blurred. Blogs today look just like website and are far more flexible and functional. I suggest that coaches get a blog for several reasons. There is no reason to spend thousands of dollars on a web design, webmaster, or website. You can create your own blog or have someone help you for very little money.

When you use one of the following blogging platforms you can add content to your blog easily and that is great for search engine optimization. Search engines love blog and contatly updated sites. You will also be able to change the look and content in your blog without having to spend major dollars with a web designer.

Blogs are attractive to search engines and are a wonderful way to communicate with your target coaching niche as well as market your coaching and coaching products to them.

Two Major Blogging Platforms

There are two major blogging platforms. One is Typepad and this is the one I suggest for new coaches. Typepad is easy to set up and can be set up in an hour. In just a few hours you can add all the bells and whistles that you would ever want. Typepad will provide most coaches with everything they need and is so easy to work with that it can be modified easily. You can even make complete design changes very easily. Typepad also provides hosting with their service so you don't have to hunt for a place to host your blog separately.

The second major platform is Wordpress. This is the industry standard for most internet marketers because it is so flexible and there are so many add-ons designed for this platform. Wordpress is more difficult to work with and install. It also requires you to get hosting on a server. The advantages of Wordpress are its amazing flexibility and power. You can even have a membership site attached to your Wordpress blog. However, these are all features that most coaches do not ever need unless they get deeply involved in internet marketing. If you think you will go on to develop many coaching product to be sold on the internet then it would be wise to begin with a Wordpress blog.

Pick one of these platforms and get started with your blog. It is your home base on the internet and the place where potential coaching clients can come to get information and to begin to know, like and trust you.
