Magic is a public art being performed by magicians since centuries. Its one of the earliest forms of entertainment for men and till today has people become completely dazzled by the tricks. From the time of Houdini who did magic tricks like escaping to now the street magicians like David Blaine, magic just like any other art forms has also evolved. One of the most amazing facts about the Magicians cult is that all magicians are bound by the promise of secrecy. No magician ever really shares his/her tricks with others or any one in the audience. Its a trade secret and respected as such.

There are new acts which are created and performed each day but some acts remain the same. Depending on what kind of audience are you performing for these acts are picked. For a stage performance, the props/ properties need to be bigger and the tricks longer and need a team support. For a close up magician, he or she will perform with the crowd circling them at a public place or a bar or some place even smaller.

These magicians have their own tricks up their sleeves. Some of the most common tricks are production, vanish, escaping acts, restoration acts, teleportation acts, levitation and prediction. Lets learn a bit about all these common tricks used by a close up magician. Production types of acts are tricks where a magician produces something from nothing or start from a product A and from nowhere make it a product B. For example to produce chickens from under a basket where he kept just eggs, or a rabbit out of a hat, or someones watch from his pocket and the like. Vanish sort of an act, very common for a close up magician are acts where he or she makes a certain thing vanish in thin air. Say a paying card you picked and put in your own pocket, your watch, or sometimes when using props the lady vanishes from the box etc.

But one of the most amazing tricks to have dazzled men alike for decades now is levitation. Levitation is a trick where a magician defies gravity and suspends himself or herself in thin air. Years ago this trick was performed with a lady/child lying down and then suspended in thin air but now a magician can perform such a trick right in front of your eyes and youll be left amazed. It is magic after all that were talking about.
