Cleaning Out Your Closet To Make Room For New Clothes

Have you noticed in recent months that every time you go into your drawers and closet to find something to wear that you continuously pull out garments that are way out of style, things you can not wear anymore or things you just no longer like? If this is the case, it could be time for a complete wardrobe overhaul. It means that probably at least half of the clothes you own are completely useless to you and need to be disposed of in some way.

Some people never have this problem because they have sens enough to clean things out one or two at a time, but hopeless pack rats will let clothing pile up for years until they are practically forced to take some action. When you have no more room to add new clothes and accessories because your space is all taken up by things you never even wear, it can be very frustrating trying to find anythings at all to even put on.

You might think that once you get rid of all of the excess clothing you are not wearing, what will you wear and how will you find the money to replace all of the things you are getting rid of? Well, first of all, you will not miss all of the clothing that you are not wearing anyway, but you will love the clutter free state of your closet and drawers. In the second place, you do not have to spend a fortune to replace useless clothing with apparel items that you can actually wear.

The first thing to do is get all of the excess clothing you no longer need out and into boxes or bags. This should include items you keep in drawers as well like corsets, camisoles and other lingerie and underwear items you never wear anymore. Then you can sort through the items you might be able to trade out with friends or family with things they might want to get rid of. This is one way to spice up your wardrobe with fresh items that you might actually wear. The rest you can either store for a yard sale, as long as it is not back in your closet, or donate them to a charity.

You can replace more of your wardrobe by using thrift stores and on line auctions too. Then of course you can look for sales and clearance items for things that are brand new. Save the big money you might spend for clothing items that you really like. Buy new pieces of clothing that are classic and timeless and in a size that gives you a little room in order to get the longest wear out of them for the money you spend.
