Classic Stag Night Activities

By:

There is one night that pretty much all men either love or hate before their actual wedding day, the night I am referring to is of course the infamous Stag Night. There was once a time when the traditional Stag night (the last night of freedom of an ensnared groom) was celebrated in the local pub or night club with the grooms closest family and friends. The idea was to get the groom extremely drunk, arrange for a busty stripper in a fancy dress costume to shake her knockers in his face and take photos to use as evidence. Then the lads on the stag do would kindly proceed to remove his trousers on the way home, for the stag to find himself kindly locked up by the local police and probably miss the wedding ceremony! In the hours before the wedding he would then have to plead with the police to let him go, so the wedding could take place. However there should be something else for him to worry about as after his wife-to-be had seen photos of him with another woman and heard he had been walking along the High Street baring all to see, the wedding would probably be cancelled anyway.
Thankfully though, things have become a little more sophisticated in the last few years. Stag nights and Stag weekends have become a multi-million pound industry, with licensed novelty army fancy dress products available for purchase to make your night or weekend at Minehead Butlins or even Barry Island one to remember forever! There are many fancy dress shops and internet sites that sell fancy dress costumes and accessories and it may be hard for the best man to try and decide what to buy to embarrass the stag on the stag night! Towns and Cities across Europe now encourage stag nights as a means of earning extra revenue to get their pubs and clubs bustling in what would otherwise be quiet times. As the phenomenon grows, so too does the sense of adventure of the British public when it comes to the locations they decide to visit for a great stag night. A recent survey listed the following cities abroad as big favorites of the Brit's on Stag weekends: Czech Republic (Prague), Budapest (Hungary), Dublin (Ireland), Vilnius (Lithuania ), Barcelona and Tossa de Mar (Spain), Warsaw (Poland), Prague (The Czech Republic), Riga (Latvia), the Algarve (Portugal), Amsterdam (Holland), an eclectic choice of lively night life you must agree! If you are a bit of a home bird and want to spend a weekend in the U.K. there are a growing host of outdoor activities on offer which are popular such as karting, off-road driving, paint ball wars, target shooting, five-a-side football and water skiing. The market has become so sophisticated that many companies can provide a pick and mix choice of location and activities depending on the sort of weekend or day activities a Stag group wants. The stag night is a memory that all stags will cherish or possibly regret for the rest of their lives!
