Always look your best. Nobody wants a date who looks like he or she hasn't taken a bath or shower for a month or wears clothes that look as if they haven't been washed for a few months. Looking your best not just on dates but in all kinds of situations will give you confidence.

Pay attention to your date. While he or she is speaking, make sure that you hang on to every word and that you ask for more questions. This shows that you are really interested in getting to know him/her.

Don't try to pretend that you are somebody else just to impress your date. This usually happens in online dating. Your lies will eventually catch up with you sooner or later. It is best to be honest and truthful at the onset of your relationship. Trust is also the foundation of relationships, not just love and respect.

Be mindful of your manners. Do not be rude, especially to other people you encounter while you are on a date such as waiters or movie ushers. Say 'thank you' and 'please'. These are basic good manners that everyone should practice.

Do not talk about past relationships. It will make the other girl feel uncomfortable and less important. Talking about other women or men implies that you are interested in them. Your attention and interest should be focused solely on your date. It is also a minus point in your date's score card if you tell bad things about your exes.

Be confident in everything you do, confidence is so sexy it turns people on. If you are confident about yourself, it will make other people interested in learning more about you. If you are nervous, don't let it show. What you can do is to remind yourself why people like you. However, be careful not to be too confident. Having confidence and being a stuck up braggart are two completely different things.

Do not be too clingy. Being too clingy pushes a person away because it shows insecurity. And who likes a person who is insecure? Just because your date wasn't able to call you for a few days does not mean you have to pester him or her with messages or calls. Play a bit hard to get, just a bit. Don't over do it or your date will lose interest.

Do not come to your date late. Being late means you are not giving as much importance to the event or happening that you are going to attend. If you are late on your date, the other person will think that you are not very interested.

You can avoid any misunderstandings by calling your date and telling him/her you are going to be late because of an unexpected emergency and that you will try to go to your meeting place as fast as you can. This will be highly appreciated because it shows that it is not your fault and that you are worried that he/she might be upset.
