With the passing out of summer, the Christmas is in the air. The first signs of the festival are seen around with the shops and malls stuffing up with the Christmas gifts, decorative items and Christmas trees and people looking busy with preparation of their shopping lists. Although it is mainly a festival celebrated in accordance with the birth of Jesus, it is celebrated throughout the world irrespective of their beliefs.

Origins of Christmas
Christmas festive is basically said to be celebrated traditionally on December 25, as a birth of Jesus, although it is not the exact date of his birth. The present day Christmas is a mix and match of various traditions followed by different cultures and nations. The traditions like Christmas tree which is a pagan tradition adapted and popularized by the British Royal family, there are many unique ceremonies and rituals that are followed according to countries, cultures and respective family traditions.

Christmas Traditions
Christmas tree has incurred many changes right from the beginning when it was celebrated for the blossom of spring to todays artificial Christmas trees made of plastic, paper, wood, with the decoration of electric bulbs. Today we have got many types of Christmas trees and the decorative items like Christmas balls, stars, lights, and snow flakes.

Christmas Gifts
Christmas gifts are exchanged between family, friends and neighbors as a token of love. The tradition of Christmas gifts is more popularized with the Santa Claus, who makes and gives gifts to baby Jesus, and in turn shares with all the children of God. Todays Christmas witnesses a lot of people not encouraging their children believe the Santa Claus and his gifts as it misleads them from truth.
