Choosing Your Network Marketing Business

Choosing Your Network Marketing Business

Choosing your network marketing business is one of the most important decisions you will make in your network marketing journey. Finding the right business opportunity is critical to your long term success in the home based business arena. The process of choosing your network marketing business can be daunting, since there are so many options available.

Start your search by looking for a network marketing team and leader that you feel comfortable with. While this is perhaps the most important step in the selection process, it also tends to be the most overlooked. You will want to find a team that provides you training the strategies of business building using online and offline methods. The training being offered needs to go well above and beyond training on the company products and compensation plan.

There are two primary ways that I would recommend for identifying a prospective team or leader. Start by doing a Google search for articles that deal with network marketing subjects. These may include articles on topics such as: Business building strategies, downline recruiting and team development. Look for names that appear on a repeated basis, make a list of those names and then search for their blog. By looking at their blog, you will be able to evaluate whether or not this is someone who can help you build your business. You can also perform a similar search on Youtube for video content. Review the video content produced by those leaders who appear repeatedly and evaluate your ability to connect with their training. Additionally, video will allow you to get a feel for the style and personality of the leader and should answer the question of whether this is someone you can truly work with.

Once you have identified a few leaders that seem to be a fit for you and your business aspirations, look for them on Facebook and make a connection request. You want to evaluate the content that they provide to their connections and also how they conduct themselves in the marketplace. By taking these steps you should be able to narrow your list of potential teams and leaders down to 3 or less.

After narrowing down your list of prospective leaders, take time to learn about the companies you represent. You will want to research those companies for such things as longevity in the marketplace, good standing with the Better Business Bureau and public opinion. Pay special attention to red flag issues such as legal actions and turnover in senior management.

After your due diligence on the network marketing company is complete, evaluate the products and services offered by the company. Would you personally use their products and services, or have you had any experience with them? If the product is something you believe in and are willing to use, thend determine the marketplace demand for these products. This can be accomplished by evaluating the marketplace. Conduct a Google search on the product name and take note of the types of responses that search generates as they pertain to product demand.

Finally you will want to take a look at the compensation plan. The plan should be easily understood and you should be very clear on how compensation is paid. For example you will want to know what percentage of retail sales is profit for you. You will also want to examine the bonus and override structure for your MLM downline. Make sure that the compensation plan makes sense for you and your long term objectives.

As you choose your network marketing business, let these steps guide you in your decision making process.
