Choosing To Become A Wahm

By:

Many mothers are leaving their desk jobs, as work from home opportunities become more popular. Becoming a WAHM is a great choice, but there are some things you need to consider before jumping on this band wagon. If you have been thinking about starting your own business and don't know what direction you should take, ask your self the following questions. Use them as a guide to determine if an online opportunity is for you.

1. Can you afford to be a WAHM?

You won't be making a lot of money in the beginning so you and your family will have to get by on one income. It's important to look carefully at your budget and see if that is going to work before you quit your job. Be informed about all business start up costs and extra expenses associated with a new business.

2. Is being a WAHM be something you can realistically do?

It isn't as easy as you may think. You may have the money to invest in a new business, but do you have the time to invest? If you're going to be on the phone a lot, will your home be quiet enough for you to do this? Do you have a computer and an office area you can work in? These are important things to keep in mind.

3. How are you going to take care of your kids?

What will you do with your children while your working in your home office. Are your children in school? Who will watch them when they get home so you have time to dedicate to your home business? If your children do go to school, will your WAHM schedule allow you the time to take care of them before and after school? What about when they're on summer vacation or off school for other reasons?

4. Is now the right time for a change?

It isn't easy to go from working out of your home to being a WAHM. If you've been home but not working, that's also a big adjustment to make for both you and your family. You have to be sure that you'll be able to handle being a WAHM. Many mothers want to be a WAHM to spend more time with loved one's. Based on which opporutnity you choose, you may not always come out with alot of extra time on your hands. How will you handle that?

Becoming a wahm is definitely worth considering. Weigh all the pro's and con's before you make your choice. Choose what is best for you, your spouse and your children.
