Choosing The Right Spells For The Fastest Cast Sequence

By:

If you have ever played World of Warcraft, then you know what a cast sequence is. If you don't, then we should definitely tell you that a cast sequence is when you click a spell that has a cast time. The time it takes for the spell to be conjured, and then cast is the cast sequence.

In most cases, spell casts can range from less then a second to a maximum of 3 seconds. The only time they might ever go over the average of 3 seconds is if they are for a certain spell that is involved with something else.

What is great about a cast sequence, is that you can tell how fast they take, or how long they take. When you take the time to figure out which spells you are going to use, and which damage they can really output, you have to be considerate of several things. When you are trying to pick your spells that you wish to use, you have to look at the damage they are going to do, and then how long the cast sequence is.

If the cast sequence is too long for a small amount of damage, then you should consider using another spell that has a shorter cast time, but does the same if not more damage. By doing so, you will really be helping yourself out. It's common logic: if you do something faster and with the same amount of energy, then you should take the time to pick that cast sequence, and not something that would hinder your performance for less results.

The next thing that you should consider when trying to pick out which spells you should use, is whether or not you can create a macro with them. I personally always like to pick the spells in order: those that do more damage, and then decrease in damage for a shorter spell cast. That way when I create a macro, I can put them in order from cast sequence to damage output. By doing so, I only have to click one button, instead of having to bind four keys and then clicking each one individually.

If I create a macro for each spell cast sequence, then I can easily click one button, and after each part of the macro is cast, then it will switch to the other part of the macro. This helps my performance a ton, and will easily help you, too if you take the time to consider it, try it, and then perfect it.

The only thing that you need to be aware of, is that sometimes you can try to bind too many keys to a single macro. It might be easier for you to bind a different cast sequence to each. Again, it is completely up to your style of play, and if you do it correctly, you'll easily set yourself apart from the clickers in-game.

Any advantage you can get in a game, as long as it is legal within the game rules, is one that you will want to use. This is one of the greatest advantages you can ever find, just use your key bindings, macros, and order each cast sequence.
