After investing money in a set of the Mikasa Harmony stemware then you should seriously be considering purchasing a set of the Mikasa flatware to go with it. Along with investing money in a set that adds refinement and class to your dinner party they are made of such materials that they can be handed down from generation to generation to use.

But as you will soon see when you wish to purchase such flatware you have many different designs to choose from. Even though this isn't a company who have been offering such products for very long unlike Oneida they have certainly gained a reputation for producing high quality items. In fact today they are considered to be one of the finest producers of all kinds of stem, dinner and flat ware that you can use.

So just what style of flatware is available for you to purchase from this company? In this article we take a look at a number of the different ranges that Mikasa now offer.

Range 1 - Gourmet Basic

More commonly known as the Mikasa range it has a more contemporary look to its style with semi transitional handles made from 18/10 grade stainless steel. For those who are after a more functional set of flatware but still have a traditional look to it then the sets in this range are worth considering.

Range 2 - Sasaki

This like all the other ranges of flatware from Mikasa has a number of different designs in the collection to choose from. But this range has more curving contours and some of them also come with a design that seems to be influenced by the aristocracy of old and seem to have a pattern design that would not been uncommon on early continental heraldry items. This range includes collections such as Peapod, Orbit, Village of Sienna and Senja.

Range 3 - Towle

Along with using good quality sterling silver to create the various sets that make up this collection of Mikasa flatware they also choose to use other precious metals such as gold and also mother of pearl in the designs. Although they look very modern and clean in design they have the feel of much more traditional and heavy silverware.

Range 4 - Wallace

If you want flatware that looks very elaborate and fanciful then those in this range such as the collections known as Corsica, Butterfly, Mandolin or Pompeii should be considered. As well as having a more elaborate design to the handle these also come with gold accents. If you are intending to purchase items like these then don't stick with the more conventional Mikasa Harmony stemware but opt for something a little more elaborate in design.

Range 5 - International Silver

There are many different styles of flatware in this range however they are much more traditional in design and look and seem to have the feel of the flatware created by Oneida. The design on this Mikasa flatware is very minimalistic and also come with much broader handles to enable to carry the heraldic, star, knot or vine symbols that are etched into them. This range of flatware is one that will look perfectly acceptable when laid on the same dinner table that you are using a set of Mikasa Harmony glassware as well.
