Choosing The Right Country Footwear For Your Outing

By:

Your trip to the countryside entails proper preparation in terms of clothing, as well as the right country footwear. You need appropriate clothing to counter the incredibly cold nights and warm days. Footwear is very important to take care of your feet since you will be moving around on foot a great deal and without appropriate footwear, you could face a lot of trouble in your travels. It is also necessary to take just the right footwear and not end up burdening yourself with something extra that may not be used at all.

For instance, if you are going to be travelling to a farm, you should be able to do with sneakers and perhaps not require heavy boots. But if you are going to be trekking or your intended path is strewn with tall grass, mud and other such delights, you would need footwear that can protect your feet and help you walk without stumbling. You would also do well to be prepared for heavy rain or snow by taking with you adequate waterproof and thick-lined country footwear specifically designed to cope with such conditions.

For example, if you were going to a small farm, you surely wouldn't want to wear a pair of dress shoes, or even just plain sneakers. With the tall grasses and weeds, mud and animal feed, not to mention any holes that you can't see, you have to wear a shoe that is not only going to protect your feet, but give you added support. In fact, if the weather is going to be bad, such as rain or snow, you will have to think about waterproof country footwear and lined country footwear. The footwear must have a tall shank and a solid base. If you are on the thinner side, then ensure that the lace provided is enough to secure the boot nicely to your foot and prevents you from slipping into the mud or snow. Another important requirement is that of a good tread for gripping so that you can walk fast, if required, without feeling that you will miss a step and fall down.

However, if you are going hiking, then the requirements will change. The level of the surface is not going to be even and you need to opt for a real tough and durable boot that has a thick sole for adequate protection, as well as grip. Leather has been the preferred type of material for such shoes as it prevents any chance of puncture due to sharp rocks, bites of insects, and other nasties. The boots made of leather also generally provide good support to the ankle to prevent any twisting while climbing rocks, and the sole is fortified for good traction. Some of the boots also have a steel toe to counter any loose rocks on the way.

If you are off on a hunt then you need to look at country footwear that is similar to the ones for hiking. They however need to be waterproof, and should be snug around the foot and calf.
