Choosing The Perfect Flutes For Your Perfect Day

Whether you are looking for silver toasting flutes silver toasting flutes or crystal wine stems, the search should begin with some thought and glasses should not be chosen simply for appearance, appeal and good looks alone.

Before you begin to shop for toasting flutes, think about what you need and how you want the glasses to serve you, now and in the future. Also, think about your lifestyle and what kind of toasting flutes would best suit you both.

If your flutes will be used for the wedding reception only and then stored in a china cabinet from that day forward, only to be looked at but never used, then you can consider silver luster ware champagne flutes. However, if you plan on using your toasting flutes often in the future, then luster ware is not your best choice because as you may know, the luster tends to wear off over time, especially with handling and regular washing.

Although stunningly beautiful, a luster ware champagne flute is meant to be a very occasional indulgence. For regular use, consider silver toasting flutes that have crystal vessels and silver embellishments on the stems only. For example, silver plated open heart and jewel drop stem champagne flutes or clear glass flutes with a silver plated stand may be more appropriate.

You should also consider whether or not you will be toasting with champagne or wine. Not everyone likes champagne, nor can every wedding afford it. Many couples have their wedding toasts with wine, either red or white. In this case, you may want to consider wine goblets instead of champagne flutes.

Toasting sets that have larger goblets are more appropriate for wine that champagne flutes would be, and silver toasting flutes are still available in a wine version with lovely flutes vessels and long stems. They simply have a little wider mouth since wine is not effervescent and bubbly like champagne is.

Of course, cost should also be an important consideration. If you are just purchasing one set of silver toasting flutes for the bride and groom, then by all means splurge and buy the set you love the most, no matter the cost! However, if you want your entire head table to be matching and you are purchasing silver toasting flutes for the entire table, then cost may be very important - especially if you have a large wedding party. In this case, look for those that are silver plated or have luster ware finishes as these tend to be less expensive.

If silver is critical because it is part of your overall wedding theme, then choose a toasting set for the head table that has silver on the stems only or just silver accents and embellishments. The less silver or silver plate that is on the silver toasting flutes, the less expensive they tend to be.
