When you think about decorating the rooms in your home the first thing that pops to mind is the colour scheme. Choosing colours for interior decorating is an impossible task for some people who just dont know what to do, or where to start. Yellow for sunny disposition, cheerful, energy

Green for nature, money, envy
Violet for power, wealth, magic
White for innocence, cleanliness, kindness, purity, spirit
Black for night, elegance, grief, mystery
Gray for wisdom, sorrow, security, maturity
Indigo for intuition, meditation, deep contemplation
Gold for wealth, prosperity, wisdom

Colour matching can be likened to a little girl dressing up in a pink dress matched with her pink shoes and pink bag and it not the term used when dealing with interior decorating. Colour coordination is the correct term using colours that complement each other.

So how do you coordinate or combine colors? First know your colours. In a typical colour wheel you have your primary colors (red, blue, yellow), secondary color (green, orange, violet), and tertiary colors (red-blue, blue-red, and so on). Now using that colour wheel lets make some combinations. Complementary colours are those that lie opposite each other like red and green. You may think that thats intense (which it is) but when you start playing with tints and shades, thats where coordination works. Match rose pink and sage green and youll have a room with a very calming effect. Also remember that nature is a good guide in helping you match colours.
