Choosing Garden Furniture Pieces

By:

Possessing outdoor furniture means that you can appreciate your garden better. There is nothing nicer than setting up a table and chairs in the garden and enjoying a couple of drinks or a meal outside. You can have your seats in the sun, or in the shade, or have an outdoor umbrella to shade you when you need.

There are many different kinds of furniture for your garden such as benches, tables, dining chairs, recliners, sun loungers, side tables and deckchairs. You might want to get a set of furniture that matches, or purchase things one at a time.

Furniture is constructed from different materials. Hardwood is perhaps the favourite and widely available. Teak is a commonly used wood but it's quite pricey. The wood does need to be treated with teak oil but it is resistant to fungi, fire and water. Wood must be cared for to avoid weathering.

Plastic is the less expensive choice however it does not mean it is horrible. It isn't the most environmentally friendly choice however the furniture is light as well as long-lasting and can remain out of doors throughout the year.

Metal garden furniture will likely be made from wrought iron or aluminium. Aluminium is coated to make it weather resistant but the coating must be taken care of given that the underlying metal is susceptible to corrosion. Wrought iron is weighty but tough and it looks superb.

Resin weave garden furniture is good since it is light-weight compared with wood and metal. It has an attractive pattern with the weave and is more and more popular in Britain. It's reminiscent of tropical holidays. The resin weave is often made from recycled plastic so is great for the ecologically minded. Also, the furniture has a great life expectancy as it stands up to outdoor use very well.

Hammocks are a popular garden accessory. Again, they are suggestive of holidays. They range in price from basic inexpensive fabric, to more costly fabric with free-standing wood or metal frames.

A great piece of garden furniture is the outdoor beanbag. Vivid colours are available and the seats are light-weight and comfy.

Hanging chairs are also an exciting furniture solution. Hanging from a tree or a sturdy frame, the chairs or pods are really nice to sit in. The movement is comforting as the chair sways in the breeze.

With garden furniture you'll be able to really have fun. Just be sure you purchase something suitable for your garden and your price range but don't forget to think ahead a bit to what your long term needs will be. If you're renting a house with a substantial back garden, it may not make sense to go mad and purchase an entire wooden furniture set if your next house has a tiny little garden.

Whatever you do though, ensure that you use the garden whenever you can because the good weather is virtually here and gardens should be cherished and enjoyed.
