Choosing Formal Dress

A formal dress is mostly worn on weddings, evening parties, prom or formal dinners. Formal dresses actually differ in different parts of the world depending upon religion and culture. In countries like this a formal dress is mostly considered to be a perfect and beautiful gown. However, my advice to you would be that if you are looking for a formal dress, do not limit yourself to fancy gowns.

I have always said this that one should always buy something which will look extremely good on their body type. Buying something because it looked really good on mannequin is no reason to buy it. Even the most expensive and beautiful dress in the shop might not look good on you because it is not meant to suit your body type.

Keeping the occasion in mind is also very important. If you are buying a formal dress for prom, then you can go for fancy gowns however, if its a formal event for office or a dinner, then you go for something more elegant. Since these formal dresses are mostly skin fitted keep your body type in mind always.

If you have a pear shaped body you should go for a dress that is tight from the top and the skirt portion should be flowing loosely so that it can cover up your heave areas. If you are tall and thin you should go for a dress with a line cut. This style will give some curve and shape to the look of your body.

If you are petite, do not go for a huge gown, it will make you look more short and slim. For petite girls, wearing a short dress is a good idea. You need to be very careful while selecting a formal dress and looking glamorous and beautiful at the same time is very important in such events. However, a dress should compliment your personality.
