Choosing Double Bed Sets

When you buy a quilt you also need to buy a duvet cover. It's essential to have a quilt cover in order to protect it from getting dirty. The range of bedding sheet sizes is huge, so be sure to find the correct size for the best fit. A cover that is too big will fit a smaller duvet, but duvet is likely to move about inside.

The sizes can be quite confusing since there are many including single, king, superking, emperor and double bed sets. These sizes are generally referred to as UK sizes and in the U.S there are many more. In the U.S you will find that 'single' beds are called 'twins' and a popular size called California King. Getting your measurements right is an important step and will make it less confusing when buying a duvet set.

A single bed can feel quite small for an adult which makes double bed sets all the more popular. Children, generally sleep on single beds and so use single bed sheets. This isn't to say that an adult can't use a single bed but they will find a double bed more roomy. Two adults sharing a bed should have a double duvet or larger.

It would not be a good idea for two adults to share a single duvet let alone a single bed. At minimum a double bet set will suffice but increasingly people are choosing larger beds and duvet sets. The last thing you want on a cold night is waking up with the duvet taken up by your partner.

For the guest room or even the kids room, double bed sets are a good idea. Choosing the right style for a child really depends on age and what they're into. Generally, older children and teens prefer themes that are a little more mature but younger kids like more colorful themes.

Your best bet is finding a duvet set that matches the current decor of the room, since kids often put posters and things up that they like. Some duvet covers are better quality than others, and typically a good set will be thicker while a low quality one may be quite see-through. A low thread count will not be as good a quality as a high thread count. Usually, the higher the thread count the more luxurious and expensive the duvet cover. Grown-ups have the choice of luxurious fabrics such as satin and even silk when choosing bedding sets.
