Choose Green For Health

By:

It is very possible that by drinking green tea we all could improve and prolong our lives.Eastern cultures have used tea for medicinal purposes for centuries. American's are late comers to the use of some of the most natural ways of helping the body maintain and improve itself. Green tea contains naturally occurring compounds known as polyphenols which act as antioxidants in fighting disease and in treating many illnesses. Antioxidants are molecules capable of preventing the oxidation of other molecules. Oxidation reactions can produce free radicals which start chain reactions that damage cells. Antioxidants terminate this chain reaction which results in fewer damaged cells.

Those who drink five cups or more a day regularly have been found to have lower chances of heart disease. This is because it is believed that the polyphenols in green tea inhibit the build-up of LDL, the bad cholesterol that causes plaque build-up in the arteries which then leads to heart disease.

Green tea is thought to contribute to the reduced development of certain cancers, namely breast cancer and prostate cancer. Ointments made with Green tea extract are used for genital warts and perianal warts. An extract of green tree and filtered hot water is used to treat skin damaged by radiation therapy.

Maybe the most popular reason in our society for drinking green tea is for weight loss. Catechins in the tea help reduce body fat. Catechins found in tea also help reduce the signs of aging at the cellular level and act as a natural antibiotic.

Tea does contain caffeine. The amount of caffeine depends on the brewing time, the number of times you use the leaves and the amount of water in the cup. Brewed tea has less caffeine than the same amount of brewed coffee. Green tea is available in decaf as is most other teas.

Green tea has a delicious, fresh taste and is perfect to drink hot or cold. Blending with a tangy fruit juice such as cranberry juice yields a very refreshing hot weather drink. So try if for yourself and I think you will find it a tea worth drinking. Maybe one day we will find green tea in our medicine cabinet as well as the tea chest. Some of nature's simplest ways to enhance our health may just be found in the tea chest and not the medicine chest.

LotaJava.com is my first venture in to the world of e-commerce. I love coffee, so when I decided I wanted to start an on-line store , coffee was my first choice. Since I live in the south where ice tea is a year round beverage, it only seemed natural to include tea. Please check out my site. I would love to hear your comments on the site and my products.
