Chiropractic Treatment Vs Analgesics

By:

Pain can range from moderate to serious and intolerable. Let us take the case of migraines. When one has severe migraine attacks, a 250-mg painkiller is not enough. We have to take more than that. The thing is the migraine will recur and again you need to take a drug. If you want this vicious cycle to stop, then seek chiropractic help.

Point 1 - Solving the problem

Analgesics do not resolve the issue. It is true that it can relieve you of the pain; however, this is only temporary. Once the pain disappears, the migraine will recur. Hence, you are back to the process of suffering the attacks and taking drugs until you feel better and wait for another migraine attack.

Chiropractic does not deal with hiding the problem but rather goes into the bottom and solves the source. By solving the source, you are freed of the pain permanently.

Point 2 - Adverse Effects

Analgesics offer adverse effects. Some of these are dizziness, stomach upset and fatigue. Therefore, it may alleviate the pain but come with it is another health issue.

Alternatively, chiropractic does not have any adverse effects. Chiropractic solves the root of the problem unlike with drugs. It makes use of the hands to give the patient respite from the pain to obtain wellness. Chiropractors perform manual adjustments on the spine to realign it and give the patient more range of motion. Compared with drugs, it is a safe method of treatment.

Point 3 - The Costs

As compared to the costs, using pain relievers is costlier than seeing a chiropractor. With drugs, you need to pop a tablet inside your mouth every time you feel pain. It is almost similar to having maintenance drugs. It is also a fact that drugs are one of the commodities that are continuously increasing its price.

Contrary to what others believe, chiropractic is not expensive. You may only need a few visits to your chiropractor although this depends on the severity of your illness. Nevertheless, if you responded well on the first adjustment, your chiropractor will ask you to return for a follow-up visit and another to give you advice on your diet and give you an exercise program to do at home. That is all, and you are no longer required to keep a weekly or bi-weekly appointment. Hence, you get more savings having chiropractic treatment than taking medicines. Chiropractic is also covered by insurance plans.
