Fuel efficiency and power are important, but they arent everything. As the winds of change sweep through the automotive industry, global manufacturers are switching their focuses towards developing newer, more fuel efficient technology. But at what cost? It seems like the industry is equating a progressive shift in technology to the future of car design ultimately leading to car exteriors that scream Im trying too hard to be ahead of my time. Well, its important to change designs with changing consumer tastes. But it seems like a lot of manufacturers are instead trying to predict what consumer tastes will eventually look like, leading to fatal flaws in exterior design that might put aesthetics enthusiasts in a rough position when trying to make a car purchase decision.

Right now, Toyota is one of the leaders in the industry. The new eco-friendly focus is a big piece of the puzzle, as Toyota is leading the segment with cutting-edge technology. Chicago new Toyota dealers are proud of their fuel economy, but they know that efficiency isnt everything. And so, theyve finally listened to consumers, who have been begging for some changes to the popular RAV4 model. Following last years front and rear facelifts, updated engine and upgraded feature set, Toyota decided to change a feature thats been plaguing Rav4 fans everywhere.

What was the biggest complaint about old Rav4 models? Well, of course, it was the spare tire hanging off the side-hinged tailgate. In Europe and some Asian markets, the RAV4 has been offered without the spare tire for a few years now, but the Japanese manufacturer inexplicably kept it on the RAV4 in American markets. Your Chicago used Toyota dealer has a lot of these older models. For 2011 Chicago Toyota drivers, the RAV4 will include several upgrades that are sure to have more Chicago new Toyota drivers interested in checking out the new model.

Last years model began offering a Sport Appearance Package for RAV4 vehicles that finally brought a much more sophisticated and street-savvy look for North American drivers. The package, which helped redefine the look of the car, including new features like run-flat tires, chrome exhaust tip, special badging, heated leather seats, cargo mat, leather door trim and more interior chrome brightwork. Your Chicago used Toyota dealer should have some of these models in stock by now if youre interested in taking a look.

The unfortunate reality of these new features was that they were only available for a specific trim: the V6 Sport. But for 2010, Toyota has decided to extend that availability to all RAV4 Sport models, a move that is probably indicative of a significantly positive consumer response to the RAV4 V6 Sport changes. And best of all, the package costs the same this year as it did last year a minimal $577. This is exciting news for 2011 Toyota Chicago dealerships, who hope that Toyota will continue its new reputation for progress over the next few years, when it will be crucial for automakers to put up or shut up.
