Cheverolet Sets New Truck Standards With The 2500 Pickup

By:

For truck buyers, the most important things on their minds are power, payload and space. To put it simply, the trucks that can do the most will end up selling the most. For 2011, the Chevy 2500 is stronger, roomier and more potent than ever. It is also now the truck of the year for 2011.
Powerplants
The 6.6 litre turbo diesel engine makes 390 horsepower with an industry leading 765 pounds per foot of torque. This combination along with the powerful heavy-duty rear axle allows the truck to pull near 22,000 pounds. And that is a lot! The truck can work like nothing else on the road too. Carry your crew of 4 or your crew of 5 in comfort, while in one of the coolest air-conditioning systems in its class. There is also a 6.0 litre V8 that makes 360 horsepower and 380 pounds per foot of torque. This setup is good for pulling 10,000 pounds. A used 2500 pickup engine can be bought and modified to pull as much as 18,000 pounds and as much as 24,000 pounds was pulled by a modified used 2500 pickup engine. There is a fuel tank that holds 36 gallons, which means you can go about 680 miles before a pit stop and you will also be surprised to find that the engine is even quieter than before.
Suspension
In order to pull 22,000 pounds, the truck needs an axle to handle all that weight as well as a rear suspension which is up to the task and a rear differential that has an extremely low range and high torque transfer. As a result, the leaf springs on the Chevy 2500 are wide and rigid. Chevrolet widened the leaf springs to increase the payload. The bed and suspension can tolerate 6000 pounds. The new front axle got some work done too. It now features a 6,300 pound axle which allows it to easily handle a snow plow. To make things even easier, the ride height is easily adjustable by the driver, inclusive of the snow plow mount. The driver can raise or lower the height to accommodate deep snow conditions and to help the driver get increased handling when going for a quick sporty run. Overall, there is nothing can get in the way of you and your work with the new Chevy 2500.
Fuel Adaptability
This age of fuel scarcity and increased prices has helped the engineers to generate increased innovations in the built and design of the new diesel. It is now fully capable of using B20 biodiesel. B20 comes from using domestic resources such as vegetable oils and corn oil. This increases efficiency and allows for the driver to use more types of fuel for powering the truck.
Beauty
Not many think about this when getting a new truck but these days, with the power and durability like nothing else as well as the beauty to rival many Italian coupes, the new 2500 is in a class by itself. The trucks are elegant and show that they can combine both beauty and brawn
