Chests Of Drawers For The Whole Home, Not Just The Bedroom

Often thought of as just a piece of bedroom furniture, the humble chest of drawers is actually a multi functional, multi room piece that is incredibly versatile & useful. With the huge number of sizes, shapes & finishes available it is always possible to find a chest of drawers to suit the decor of every room & the space you need to fill.

A basic chest of drawers can be moved around & re-used in other rooms as you upgrade rather than throwing it out, for example an old chest of drawers in your workshop or craft/sewing room will always come in handy. Always practical for storage the top can be used for working on as well.

A really beautiful chest of drawers in your living room can provide a stunning design feature, with a mirror above it, or a table lamp, photos or a vase on top, but will also provide plenty of storage. Break the bank & it could make your living room look like a professional designer has helped out.

The top of a large, low chest of drawers is also the perfect place to put a TV, and of course the drawers are super useful for remote controls, DVDs, TV guides etc. Much more chic than a TV stand, a nice chest of drawers instead will help you keep everything tidied away, & if you paint it the same colour as your walls it can help you make your living room look larger.

Or a small, narrow chest of drawers can be used instead of a side table next to the sofa in your living room, & is a great place to keep magazines, knitting, reading glasses, TV guides & remote controls, whilst being sturdy enough to hold mugs, glasses etc.

Tall chests of drawers can often be the only piece of furniture that fits in a narrow alcove in a living room or bathroom, & can be as unobtrusive or as distinctive as you like. A narrow chest of drawers in an alcove can also be used to display a favourite bowl or photo, & the extra storage is a much better use of space than anything else you might find to fit.

The entrance hall is also a good place to have a chest of drawers, you can use it to store papers & bits & bobs, whilst a telephone & bowl for keys can go on top.
