Cherokee Village is a beautiful private community located in the foothills of the Ozark Mountains in Northern Arkansas. In 1954 John A. Cooper decided to build a place where folks could vacation or retire, and so, Cherokee Village was born--complete with amenities like private lakes, golf, boating, tennis, and pools just to name a few. Today it's a growing city consisting of folks of all ages. Bring your family on vacation to Cherokee Village for a week, you very well could wind up becoming full time resident!

Cherokee Village is unique in that it has 2 governing entities: The City of Cherokee Village & the Cherokee Village Suburban Improvement District (CVSID). CVSID owns and maintains the private amenities that are available to the property owners only (and their families and guests). These include, but aren't limited to: 2 championship golf courses, the North Course (which is a completely private course) & South Course (a semi-private course that was ranked 4th Best Public Course in Arkansas by Golfweek Magazine); 7 private lakes, ranging from Lake Aztec at 19 acres to Lake Thunderbird at 264 acres; 2 marina's; 6 private pools; private beaches; private tennis courts; campground; recreation centers; parks that are set up for picnics and barbequeing; and miniature golf.

The City provides the following services to the residents of Cherokee Village: Police department (which includes 8 full-time, 2 part-time, & 3 auxiliary officers); Fire department (which includes 15 full-time & 16 volunteer firefighters) with 4 fire stations spaced throughout this 13,000 acre community; road maintenance; Planning and Zoning; and animal control.

If you happen to own a plane, Cherokee Village also has an airport: CVK. IT boasts a 7 X 5150 foot runway with pilot controlled lights, two non-precision instrument approaches (GPS, NDB), self-serve fuel capabilities (100ll and Jet A), offers landing, and overnight tie-downs without fees. CVK also has an AP/IA mechanic on field and hangar space is available.

There are several churches inside the city limits, and over 30 area churches. Almost all denominations are supported. There are at least 50 clubs throughout the Tri-County area, including: American Legion, Lions Club, Kiwanis Club, Knights of Columbus, VFW & Rotary.
