2. A person who is lying will have a tendency not to look someone in the eye. If your spouse looks away and will not make eye contact with you when ask about their whereabouts or credit card charges, then he or she is probably telling you a lie.

3. A liar will have a tendency to touch their face, scratch the nose or behind their ear when answering a question. He or she may touch their throat or mouth also. A liar is not likely to touch his or her chest or heart area with their hand open.

6. Look for gestures and expressions that do not match. If your spouse says "I love you" and frowns at the same time, then it is a lie.
