By:

You suspect your spouse is cheating on you, but you cannot tell if he or she is telling you the truth or lying to you. When you ask of his or her whereabouts, there is always an answer but how can you tell if it is truthful or not. Here are the surefire ways to tell if your spouse is lying.

You ask your spouse where he or she has been and you get an answer. You ask where the money is going and you get an answer. You ask who he or she was talking to on the phone quietly and you get an answer...but are the answers the truth?

Now you can find out for sure instantly. The following techniques are used by police and security professionals around the world to tell if someone is lying or not.

1. Body language gives a liar away. If your spouse seems stiff and has limited body motion, then he or she could be lying. Someone lying will not use arm or hand movements when answering a question. They will keep their hands, arms and legs close to their body. This causes the liar to take up less space and compact him or herself.

2. A person who is lying will have a tendency not to look someone in the eye. If your spouse looks away and will not make eye contact with you when ask about their whereabouts or credit card charges, then he or she is probably telling you a lie.

3. A liar will have a tendency to touch their face, scratch the nose or behind their ear when answering a question. He or she may touch their throat or mouth also. A liar is not likely to touch his or her chest or heart area with their hand open.

4. If your spouse seems to pondering his or her answer, he or she could be lying. If the answer seems to be delayed or off pace, then he or she could be concocting their answer especially if he or she has lied before and having to remember the last lie to cover up.

5. Look for emotional gestures or expressions to be out of sync from his or her words. For instance, you give your spouse a gift and he or she says "I love you!" but then smiles much later after the statement. He or she is just saying the words and not really meaning them.

6. Look for gestures and expressions that do not match. If your spouse says "I love you" and frowns at the same time, then it is a lie.

There are more signs and ways to tell if your spouse is really lying or being truthful.
