Where to go? How to travel? When to go? before panicking read through these helpful tips.

Plan

Before you start your vacation, take some time and plan your trip. Decide and discuss what you want to see and do, ask all your family members what they have in mind. This will save you a lot of time. Finish all your research before booking your vacation. Make sure you download your itinerary and map routes beforehand, from the Internet. And check the website for last minute and up-to-date info.

Tickets in advance

Book your tickets online so that you need not wait in queues after reaching your destination. If you have any unused days in your tickets, get the no expiration option. This way you needn't pay extra the next time you visit.

Hotels

There is no need to stay at the park, as it can be quite expensive. There are other cheaper alternatives to stay that have features such as, a free shuttle to the park, free breakfast, etc. However, if you can afford to stay in the park, you will gain many advantages such as an early admittance at 7am to Disneyland, an hour before everyone else enters the park. Getting to the park as early as possible and hitting the rides is the best way to save time and money.

Time to visit

You will find Disneyland the most crowded in summer and during Christmas. Hence, the best time to visit Disneyland is in September, and after the Christmas holiday season. May is also a great season to visit. Beware that these days might have certain disadvantages such as, free passes not being offered, many rides being closed for maintenance, etc.

Fast pass

A "Fast Pass" actually allows you to come back at a particular time and bypass all the people waiting in line. This is a great free ticket system within Disneyland, that is bound to save you lot of time on popular rides. They are definitely worth using.

Plan your meals

We all know how expensive theme parks are, and Disneyland is no exception. Disneyland does not restrict visitors from bringing food and drinks. But it is always best if you finish off breakfast before entering Disneyland. Pack a sandwich, water and some crackers if possible, for children and keep yourself and your family well hydrated at all times. Not only will you be saving money if you bring your own food, but also time, as you don't have to wait in lines for the eatables. TIP The Mickey Mouse ice cream bars are absolutely scrumptious.

Budget for souvenirs

Souvenirs at Disney can be pricey; while you want to make this occasion an special experience and get everyone something to remember this park by, keep it cheap. You will often find retail shops selling the same goodies at half the price as that inside the park. The best souvenirs are photos, don't forget to bring along your camera and take as many snaps as possible for some everlasting memories.

Toddlers

Disneyland is a great place for toddlers, there are many rides to entertain them. Some of the rides are The Railroad, The Monorail, Its a Small World, Donalds Boat, Caseys Circus Train and much more. You need to remember that there is a height restriction for many rides, check this out before you stand in the queue and disappoint your kids.

Don't try to do everything

Pick a few rides so that you can enjoy the day. If possible divide yourselves into groups or two or three, so that everybody gets to see what they want. This way you won't be too tired walking back and forth in the park.

Relax and have fun

The most important rule is to enjoy the day and the excitement of the park. Have fun, run, laugh and scream like a kid. Dont hesitate to ask any of the park employees for help or directions if you need any. After all Disneyland is "The happiest place on earth".
