A cheap digital projector comes in a large variety of brands available at many stores online. One of the popular ways to shop for one is based upon the amount of lumens. The amount of lumens determines the amount of the different aspects of light that are available at one time or in one area.
A digital led projector that has a higher lumens will probably have a brighter picture because there is more light available compared to a unit that has a lower lumens. The two main types of units are Digital Light Processing (DLP) and Liquid Crystal Display (LCD). DLP units are newer and more expensive compared to LCD's. The detailed specifications will show the type of lens and lamp that do come with the unit and how many hours there are with the lamp life. The consumer should make sure that the machine will accommodate higher end accessories before purchasing them. Most sites include a list of replaceable accessories that will accommodate the unit of choice. Since degradation takes place with the light or lumens output over time the lamp should be replaced periodically depending upon the usual life mentioned in the specifications.


The projectors of today are lighter weight and smaller in dimensions. This makes it easier to travel with them. Some are extremely portable and only weigh a few pounds. A digital led projector is available in portable units and can easily fit into a small carrying case making it easy to carry them from location to location. Travelers may also find it easy to include a rollup projector screen and other accessories all kept inside one case for easy packing and transporting. A variety of cases are available online that have special compartments for different lenses and cords as well as other accessories that need to be easily located during a presentation.
