Chase The Dark Clouds Away And Bring Sunshine Into Your Life

So the question is... do you have a glass half full?... Or are you a glass half empty kind of person?... It is important to know which tumbler you fall into, as the way you see the glass really does have a huge impact on the way you evaluate all manner of things in your life on a day to day basis.
I personally am a glass half full kind of gal... (Not with wine! Although on the odd occasion I am partial!). If you do look at life this way then you would generally be considered to have a PMA (positive mental attitude). Your attitude towards life considerably changes how you approach events, feelings and people, and yourself. Some people are naturally drawn to having a PMA whilst others find it difficult to create that positive level of thinking.
If you are not sure which category you fall into, please read the following statement and choose one of the two options... please remember that this is about you, so you need to be very honest with yourself.
Imagine you have had to go to hospital for an operation on your legs, it's now nearly 2 weeks after the operation and you can now walk 40 yards, which of these responses indicates your true feelings...
I can now walk 40 yards without anyone helping me?
OR
I can only walk 40 yards without anyones help?
In life there are always two ways to look at something, one option is to focus on the positive aspects of a situation and that would be the 'now' (I can now walk..) and the other one is a more pessimistic state of mind which has you focussing on the 'only' (I can only walk...). If you are the kind of person who is drawn to the first response then you will have a strong sense of PMA and you would be more likely to bounce back from any situations that are negative, you would have the ability to turn the situation into a positive experience which would ultimately see you reaping the rewards that go with such a forward facing outlook on life.
However if you are the kind of person that is drawn to the second response, then you will have a poor PMA. These types of people have a tendency to really struggle when faced with negative situations. This will make them more likely to give up on a task very easily because for them dealing with the negative aspect of a situation is far easier than contemplating the thought of a positive outcome.
Creating a positive state of mind is actually easier than you think to achieve, it just takes a little bit of effort. If you find yourself in a negative place after a bad situation or event arises and it outwardly appears to have big black clouds hanging all over it... gently remind yourself of the two thoughts you could have. Ask yourself if you really like being engulfed by the gloom or if you would prefer to stand under the sunshine. By choosing the positive path way it is not guaranteed to change the situation, but IT WILL make how you handle it and feel about it much easier to cope with, after all, we all deserve some happiness at the end of a colourful rainbow.
