Chartering An Augusta 109 Helicopter

Chartering An Augusta 109 Helicopter

By:

The Augusta 109 helicopter, or A109 for short, first started production in the late 1960's. Originally, it was a single-engine helicopter. It was used for commercial ventures. However, the company thought that this model was not powerful enough and soon redesigned it to be a dual-engine helicopter. This delayed the aircraft's release until 1976.

The original use of the Augusta 109 helicopter was to be for light transport needs, specifically for those who wanted to charter or buy helicopters for short trips with little cargo and few people involved. However, air ambulance and search-and-rescue technicians soon saw the opportunity to use the helicopter to also serve their needs. The military got on board soon after the release and commissioned two different forms of the helicopters be built just for them that would house TOW missiles.

Keeping all of the above-mentioned in mind, it makes sense that those who would want to charter an Augusta 109 the most would be the following: civilians looking to make a short and a quick trip to a nearby destination, emergency services personnel, or military units. All three of these groups like the Augusta 109 helicopters for the same reasons; they are small, lightweight, particularly powerful thanks to the dual-engine build, and can do the jobs that need to be done and do them quickly. For the military and emergency services personnel, this is the difference between lives saved and lives lost. Just like their service-oriented counterparts, civilians such as business people and influential leaders find the quickness of the Augusta 109 to be life savers, as well.

The basic version of the Augusta 109 helicopter that civilians often choose is the A109C. It has the classic dual-engine design and seats eight people. The MAX version of the A109C is a popular choice for medical evacuation workers due to the wider cabin and doors that are hinged at the tops and bottoms rather than the sides. This helps get the door out of the way, so that rescued passengers can be loaded more quickly. The A109E Power series is an upgraded civilian version of the basic Augusta 109 helicopter and comes with two choices for more powerful engines.

Listed above are only a few of the different versions/series of the Augusta 109 helicopter. Since its release in 1976, it has been modified and released in several different ways so as to make it useful to a large variety of people with a wide array of needs. Those in need of a speedy and efficient helicopter can be assured in knowing that the Augusta 109 helicopter has something that will fit their needs.
