Chainsaw Safety News You Can Use.

By:

We are all too familiar with the horror stories concerning chainsaw accidents causing severe bodily injury and even death every year. Before a solution to the most common chainsaw hazards can be proposed, we need to know and understand what the most common causes are. This article is intended to raise awareness concerning chainsaw safety issues with spring cleanup right around the corner. Once we examine known safety issues and some of the causes of injury, we can propose to the reader an alternative method for safer chainsaw
usage.

The most common cause of injury results from kickback. This is a term used to describe when the chainsaw kicks back into the operator. Most users are familiar, or will become familiar, with the term kickback, when they choose to properly take the time to read instruction manuals and by doing some Googling for causes of kickback. Kickback is a common and sometimes severe injury that users must be aware of.

Other serious injuries have resulted from users utilizing ladders, stands and stepping on top of 5 gallon buckets to reach the desired branch or limb. Thus, some have lost their balance and it gets ugly faster than you can blink an eye when this happens. Some users have cut while directly under the branch and most underestimate the branches weight and how fast it will drop. They end up getting clunked on the head pretty good and sometimes require a few stitches as well. Some users do not wear any safety equipment or protection at all. In addition, users are also known to have climbed up into trees and fallen out, slipped on branches with the chains blade in motion and even death has occurred from slipping onto live wires. If you are considering the purchase of a chainsaw, take it from us: thats not how you want to go about utilizing a chainsaw.

Now, as the use of chainsaws has become more prevalent, especially with the economy being what it is, more and more homeowners are now getting into the Do It Yourselfer mode. (DIY) With this winters ice damage, hand held models are flying off the shelves. So do more new users mean more accidents? Time will tell.

However, the principle question remains: Why do users still do the same old, same old, with the same old methods and the same old tools? That answer is easy. Until now, there has not been a functional tool or method for doing the job safely, properly, and economically. But at American Tree Service Supply, we have a better and safer way. In fact, we feel that most chainsaw injuries may become a thing of the past. Why?

After 5 plus years of testing and development; the Extended Reach Chainsaw System is now available for homeowners, landscapers, property managers, arborists, lawn service professionals and many others. The Extended Reach Chainsaw System, marketed and sold by American Tree Service Supply, offers chainsaw users a unique and a one of a kind chainsaw system that safely reaches new heights.

The Extended Reach Chainsaw Ideal System allows users to increase the chainsaw to the users desired height. This system permits a ground reach of 24 feet, close to 30 feet overhead. The user can add 6 foot increments of ultra-lightweight aluminum pole while in mid-operation as necessary. This pole extension system permits for excellent standoff distance from the object being cut, as depicted in the sites photos. This is a critical safety feature not to be overlooked. Also, when the electric chainsaw is mounted on the end of the pole, the Extended Reach Chainsaw System keeps the chainsaw blade at a minimum of 6 feet away from the operator if so desired. This dramatically reduces, if not eliminates, injury from kickback and chain breakage. The Extended Reach Chainsaw System also permanently ends the unsafe use of ladders, stands and other climbing devices that can result in injury.

Additional safety features include a wireless power on/off remote control and a trigger lockout pin for child safety. Safety cutting tips are included with each system manual package.

With the extreme ice storm damage this winter we are informing the public of this new safer and eco-friendlier chainsaw. We are confident that potential and current users of chainsaws will react positively to the safer and cleaner alternative we propose once they become aware of it said Stephen Gardner, owner of American Tree Service Supply.
