Certification Translations

Not just any document translation will do for many official documents across international borders; instead many governments and other agencies may require certification translations. Authorized certification translations may be required for certificates of birth, marriage, and death, police records, school transcripts, and any other documents you may need in order to fulfill requirements of the U.S. and other governments, legal and education agencies and institutions as well as the U.S. Citizenship and Immigration Service (formerly known as the Immigration and Naturalization Service or INS).

The certification is needed to establish a paper trail of authorization needed to authenticate both the person being documented and the personal information included in the document being translated.

As you would expect, not all certification requirements are the same around the world. Language Tran's certification translations are accepted by all United States governmental agencies. However, internationally, there are diverse requirements that change often which make it nearly impossible to provide certified copies of translated documents. How are translators certified?
Certified translators are translators who have passed an exam which tests for adherence to standards given by an accredited government agency or institution. These translators often become highly sought as translators for the particular language groups in which they are certified.

What if I need my documents certified in a language other than English or Spanish?
In that case, you will most likely need a certified translation as well as an apostille issued by the State Department of your state.

Will I need a court certified translator?
Unless a judge actually asks for a translation by a court certified translator, you will most likely only need a certified translation and an apostille issued by your state Secretary of State's department.
